The University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) is the Colorado Affiliate University for Project Lead The Way. Project Lead The Way (PLTW) is a national program forming partnerships among public schools, higher education institutions and the private sector in order to encourage students to expand upon their knowledge in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
PLTW provides current high school students with the opportunity to earn college credit while concurrently fulfilling their high school requirements.
PLTW classes are taught in school during the school day, and every instructor of PLTW courses receives extensive training as well as ongoing support in the courses they teach.
PLTW courses are regular university courses that appear in the University catalogue, not high school courses for which students receive university credit.
PLTW courses appear on an official UCCS transcript as do other courses of the University. Policies regarding the transfer of credits and the specific ways in which they apply to degree requirements vary from institution to institution.

Tuition for PLTW
The tuition for PLTW courses is $100 per credit hour plus a $2 per credit hour SIS administrative fee (i.e. 3-credit course $306). This cost is substantially less than if the course was taken on the UCCS campus. Payment is due at the time of enrollment. Past due balances will accrue late charges.
Note: Your school may also require you to pay for textbooks and other course materials.

Grading Policies for the PLTW Program
Grades earned in PLTW courses become a part of a student's University of Colorado academic record. Therefore, it is extremely important that a student earn at least a 'C' grade in PLTW courses. A grade of C-minus or below could prevent a student from being admitted to any campus in the University of Colorado system, regardless of the student's high school GPA or college entrance exam scores, as a C- corresponds to a GPA of 1.70, and students must have a minimum of a 2.0 University GPA to be admitted to or remain in good standing at the University.
Every student who enrolls for PLTW UCCS credit will receive a letter grade on his/her UCCS transcript. In an effort to streamline the scoring process across schools and districts for PLTW’s End of Course Assessment (EoC), it has been determined by the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) that PLTW’s EoC Assessment will not be used to calculate a student’s final course grade. Although the EoC Assessment is one of many useful tools to gauge student success, it will not be a factor in determining concurrent credit grades granted by UCCS. Concurrent credit will be computed by the calculation of 75% course content and 25% final exam, created and administered by the PLTW teacher. The EoC Assessment will continue to be given at the end of the year as data will be collected and analyzed by PLTW for statistical purposes.
